| For sure---James Bay Road Quebec, mid/end April 2018. My only prep, new rear tire, carry gas can....and it might be kinda cold. I have ridden this before, K-75 BMW, just private road in the north, no dirt. Maybe even make motel reservation in Radisson? One day up, one day back from starting/meeting point Matagami Quebec. This time I will not ride out to real James Bay---just nothing there/flat/maybe no gas? I carry sleeping bag/survial sack in case get stuck in the middle of nowhere.-----Any one like to ride along?
Then later in summer----Hyder Alaska---easy 2 day ride from Seattle---done it at least a couple of times....from Canada back into USA to have hamburger and beer----interesting to approach from/thru Canadian Rockies....maybe some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.
Riding is the thing for me----Dec 2017 to present ridden to/thru approx.. 18-19 states. Had planned to do 49 states again in the time frame Dec 2017-Dec 2018----this time all on one bike, Last time did it, 2014, used SilverWing/Burgman 400/Suzuki TU250.
NEW NEWS: for my 80th birthday, which comes May 2019, my wife wanted to buy me new Miata....I suppose so I would cut down on the 2 wheel stuff. I have had 2 Miatas, one new and one used don't want need another. But yesterday bought 2018 Mitsuibishi Mirage, $13466 before tax. Maybe I will like AC/heater/radio? Guess will keep as spare/garage decoration.

| Happy Birthday a little early John. Your planned trips sound amazing. You are a true Tourmaster and I hope all goes well for you. |

| Hmm...Mirage gets almost as many highway MPG as SWing, and price is near what a new SWing would cost. A good backup in case a new refrigerator wouldn't fit on your motorcycle. Meanwhile, yes, a good garage decoration or safer ride in the rain.
I sold my first generation Miata after 15 years. Was not driving it as much as the two-wheelers. It was a fantastic, fun car, but didn't require the challenge to keep it upright; therefore, I opted for those enjoyable crashes on two wheels that have permanently damaged my knee, elbow, wrist, ankle, brain, and other parts of this old, reckless, precipitous body. |

| Been there this year---really nothing....and I have ridden the back roads, too. Even ridden to Key West several times, camped on the Navy Base. |

| I emphasize again...you sir are a true Tourmaster...but I still think everyone should do a Florida ride despite the heat, humidity, gators, and big snakes. I hope your negative report does not discourage anyone who might have thought about a Florida ride. I respect you for your straight forward no bullsh_t reviews and value your opinions. |

| People from the north, trailer bikers and HD riders for the most part---go in winter because it is warm----but as far as riding, I stand by "ain't much".....and have ridden in Asia, all US states except HI, so can make comparison. |

| Where would you recommend one go for an interesting ride in the Eastern part of the US? |

| Try VT/NH/Maine. Mt. Washington...but they at one time would not let Auto Scooters go up. Reason idiots drag brakes all the way down.....maybe brake fade near end and no stop. |

| I lived about 2 hours from Mt. Washington before I moved back South. If you ever get a chance, go to the top of Mt. Washington, it is a world all of it's own and so beautiful!!!! While you are in that area, take the cog train ride up the mountain. That was a great experience too!! Beautiful area, but way to cold for me! |

| I avoid NY and PA----ruff/bad roads. Got ripped off in NYC crossing toll bridge--TU250---$13 or $18, I forgot last amount....but real rip off.
Riding a bike up Mt. Washington is the thing, not train. |

| Mt. Washington----did get up on Helix---told them I was a degreed Safety Professional and showed my MSF instructor card----trip ok, rubber band drive scooters do have some or plenty of engine braking----let the drive kick out and I can see problems free wheeling.
Also, have gone up on my Kawasaki 1200 Voyager----but not trailers allowed with bike. |

| John thank you for all of the additional information. I don't have a Safety card so I hope I won't be turned away. |
