Good Afternoon to all

I have recently joined this forum having purchased on 10.01.209 new Silverwing. This joins my 2008 'baby Swing 125 c.c. which has been an amazing machine. Decided to dispose of wife's car to reduce to one car and replace with scooters, all part of master plan to reduce costs !!!

I live in South of England close to Dover and vitually retired from work. Now looking forward to reliving my youth and travelling EU with Silverwing complete with tent and without wife in tow. Past 14 years spent travelling whilst working in such diverse places as Russia, Africa and more recently Sudan.

I ordered Silverwing with Honda heated grips and Honda top box. In this weather, I cannot praise heated grips high enough.

I am now about to order Laninar Lip as being 6' tall, I have found wind buffeting annoying and slightly spoiling Silverwing experience. However, I purchased Silverwing knowing the stock screen as been subject of much debate being slighty too short.

Just purchased set of Honda extension arms for mirrors and they do not fit !!! Appears they fitted 2003 model but I cannot get them to fit my 2009 model? Back to friendly dealer for advice as it maybe me ????

I look forward to being part of this forum

Bill

Wow sounds like you have some great adventures ahead of you. My hubby does not enjoy riding and I take off on my own all the time. I really want to travel more this year. I just got a new 09 Red Silverwing and traded in my Honda Helix. I loved the Helix but want something a little bigger so I will be safer on the road.
Best to you...

Bill,

Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy it. Please post some pics in the Album when you get a chance. I think you are the 4th or 5th "Brit" here so you might want to post a topic to see who is all from England. I think you'll like the SWing since it is powerful, stable, and very comfortable. I'm 6' too and you might want to look at a different windshield instead of the laminar lip. Just a suggestion though. Again, welcome and hope you are an active member here. If you have any problems with the site please get back to me. Thanks.

Hi JeffR

Many thanks to all for welcome and for your suggestion regarding windshield or windscreen as we call them in UK

I have now ordered Givi Screen which will serve my purpose better. I am blessed with a superb local Honda dealer and followed his recommendation as well as researching forums etc. Givi products highly recommended by many users in UK.

Cost will be approximately £110 fitted whereas Honda large screen in their UK accessory cataloge is £260 fitted !!!!!!!!!!!! No mention of being gold plated which would be the least I would expect at that price !!!!!

Best regards to all

Bill
