Couple days ago, riding home in 80-90 KMH wind with gusts. Not fun! The toughest part to me is when you're getting a really strong side wind that is gusting and you're riding in and out of protected areas or in heavy truck traffic. Anyway I'm glad I had the Airflow as I adusrted it to the lowest level so it wouldn't act like a sail on me.

I can only agree with your comments cjuzda.

I have a two mile open coastal road to negotiate and the cross winds are quite formidable. At either end you are sheltered by buildings them, into the cross winds, trucks, coaches and a bridge are all part of the entertainment during the length of the road.

Your mention regards the airflow screen was something I had never given any thought to - I will now. Thank you for that.

I also think a more aerodynamic helmet would help. Mine - Bell Mag 8 3/4 type is pretty large and has a visor that catches the wind. I'm sure a smaller full face one would help under those conditions

Again, quite possible.

This time of the year I change from an airy, well ventilated helmet, (Caberg Modular,) to a Arai, all enclosed lid. Very aerodynamic and very good at keeping out the elements.

High winds is are something I have to contend with on very nearly every trip to or from Tempe, AZ and El Paso, TX. I tried a couple different windshields and added on the leg wind deflectors before I finally got it right. I routinely use a 3/4 Z1R "Ace" helmet with mirrored visor because I like to be able to see more. I also have an Icon Operator full face helmet which I have worn upon occasion but haven't found any appreciable difference so far as wind goes except that it's a lot hotter than the 3/4. Probably be nicer in winter.

I totally agree. Its all about the windshield. I was riding the Columbia River Gorge last year and fought the bike for 10 hrs. 100 km/hr winds and gusting. When I got home I ordered the Airflow windshield. The scoot feels like a totally different bike. I replaced the stock windshield thinking I wanted more protection so I purchased the GIVI. First rain storm and I started to question my choice. After the battle of the winds I knew I had make the wrong choice. Then came the airflow. All is right with the world now. Smile
