Hopefully will do the job on an upcoming weekend. I have read plenty of tips on this site and will let you know if I hit any snags.

I have all the parts now and I'm planning to do this upgrade on Sunday, including all seals and wear items (I'm at 23k miles) Wish me luck!

Should be a piece of cake- I just don't want my bike to be out of commission if I screw something up or something breaks. I have a leaking seal so I am going to replace all of the rubber parts, plus the drain plug washer on the bottom. I am also replacing all of the metal collars and hope they won't be difficult to replace (the shop manual doesn't mention any special tools involved)

A lot of people have replaced their 'stock' springs with the Hyperpros including me. The most difficult thing is removing the Fork Tubes. If you can do that, you should be able to do the rest of it. I removed mine without taking all the tupperware off. Just need to have the right tools. It is one of the best things I did to my 2005. So I do recommend doing them.
May the Lord bless you.

My best to you too.

So I installed the fork springs Sunday morning and then went on a 90 mile ride with 4 old-timers I met recently (2 Burgman 650 executives, 1 Burgman 400, a Goldwing and me). I do like the ride now but still getting used to it. I especially like how it absorbs the speed bumps and speed humps better so i don't have to slow down so much.

However, I had planned to perform a complete rebuild of my forks, and that didn't happen. I removed the old springs and pumped out the old oil, then removed the retainer clip, but for the life of me I was not able to separate the upper tube from the lower part. I followed the instructions and tried to repeatedly and quickly yank the tube out and take the seal along with it, but after a half hour I gave up and put it all back together.

So hopefully the fork will leak a bit less (I did install a new dust cap and the grease included in the kit) and i hopefully won't have to worry about the fork failing for another 50k miles.
