| Decided to change the oil in the front forks while I was putting on a new tire...when I pulled the tubes there was hardly any oil in them (several ounce maybe of very dark red stuff - not tranny fluid) ...AND the springs were not in the same way. On was in with the loose coil toward the top the other the tight coil was up. Which way do the springs go back in....I'm guessing loose coils toward the top caps, or does it even matter? |

| Hi Hvymtl,
The loose end (Spread coils) go into the tubes first on both legs. Check your Shop manual for the correct type and amount of fork oil to be used. |

| hi Hvymtl yes the loose (wider) coils to the top of tube the fork oil level should measure 97mm (3.8 in) to the top of the inner tube before you put the spring and 2.5 in spacer tube and flat washer back in oil required approx 10.2 oz each fork you put a small amount of oil in the tube and pump the inner tube fully up and fully down approx 10 times to remove the air then top the oil up to 3.8in from the top of the inner tube then install the spring the tube spacer the flat washer push down hard on top of the cap and screw the cap back on the outer fork job done jodders1 |

| Of course, now is the time to upgrade to hyperpro springs for a better ride and less nosedive....

Just put it all back together last night... haven't ridden it yet, but hopefully it may have resolve the steering issue I posted earlier....hope the cheesy spring noise that it had is gone |
