| Hi Yall! Just joined. Recently bought an 04 with 9500 miles. Just gettin broke in! =) However...upon initial acceleration I get a pronounced vibration. It quickly dissipates but I'm pretty sure it's not up to spec. Any ideas as to the problem are greatly appreciated. Michael B from Vancouver USA says Howdy!! |

| Hello and Welcome, Never knew there is a Vancouver in USA, not as well known as the one just a few miles up the road in the other state (Canada). (that'll get the Canucks going). Vibration is not uncommon, mine has never suffered from vibrations as it has a JCosta Variator fitted. Fitting 24 gram Dr Pulley Sliders may go some way to helping the problem. Other people will probably come along and give you more advice on it. Cheers, |

Michael B from Vancouver USA says Howdy!! Welcome! As for the vibration. Live with it - basically!!! OR change to the JCosta variator. Vibration is part of the Wing. Once the engine has warmed up and is above crawling speed the ride smooths out to acceptable levels. What we fail to accept is that having two cylinders whilst smoother than a single pot is still not as vibration free as a well balanced 4 cylinder machine. |

| Welcome Michael B. Some vibration on acceleration seems almost normal. The extent is the question. If you go to the search function at the top of the page and type in vibration, you will find a plethora of discussions. Once you find one that seems to match yours, then you can decide the best choice for yourself. Vibration can be caused by so many different things, it is almost impossible to diagnose remotely. |

| Welcome aboard Michael. I lived in VancWa for about 20 years before moving to the SF Bay Area, 18 years ago. The initial vibration is "normal" with stock variator and rollers. A little frustrating, but my other scoots do it as well. |

| Thanks Guys!
I had an 08 Majesty and I don't recall vibes like this one does. Yes I've been reading up on the issue. I'll probably try the Mr. Pulley sliders. Buggyman is local so I'll give them a try.
I really like this scoot! Fun to ride and moves right along. Not quite up to my ZX6R or GXSR but WAY fun to ride. =)
Break in the rain today so gonna Wing it to work. |

| Being a newbie to the Silverwing scene, I've had dozens of bikes before, a lot of them (Italian) twins. After some 600 Miles with the SW, I am soooooooo happy it doesn't vibrate like the twins I was used to. No numb fingers, no rattling teeth, no fuzzy mirrors, (and no eardrum piercing exhaust) on the S-Wing: I guess it's all a matter of perception.
