Subject: Help with hooking up front fog lights. Wed Oct 30, 2013 10:21 am
Hi guys, I'm getting ready to hook up fog lights at the reflector bracket on the front forks. I searched the topic and I keep going around in circles with the different posts. What I would like to know : Do I need to remove the front cover? If so, what are the potential trouble spots? Do I need to remove the w/shield to get to the front cover. I have a manual, but it is skimpy on specifics. No actual pics, schematics only. Just says: remove this and that and reverse order to instal: great ! Thanks, guys. I am tackling this in freezing temperatures and need to know where the particularly fragile things are.

Riding buddy of mine who has a Burgman 650 was able to help with the installation. He does a lot of his own mods and said it would be similar to his bike. It took about 6 hours to complete the job. No rush, working away at a relaxed pace. My buddy also has a huge collection of electrical parts and the best tools you could ask for. I learned a lot from this. Best of all, no screws left over. I found a broken tab on the front cover that we were able to repair with JB weld. The lights look great and they work fantastic. I designed my own mount to accept the reflector and incorporate the lights. We only needed to dremel one plane to get it to sit properly. The angles were spot on and the parts fit together really well. Thank you, Dennis for the electrical hook-up for the front lights. They stay on with the high beam too which is a plus.

Good to hear you got everything squared away. Extra lights are always nice to have.
