| Heading out to Peaks of Otter. This will be my longest trip yet. I'm excited, and I'll try to remember to take pictures to show y'all. It' a seven hour trip if you don't stop, and we're going there and back overnight. The second part of the trip will be north on Skyline Drive, which should be absolutely beautiful. Got a new vented Clearview windshield, which I installed today. I think I'm going to really enjoy it. The vent is great. I got the last extra large. They're not making them anymore.

| Enjoy the ride. Kim and I rode this route from north to south last spring and it was a lot of fun. Very scenic.
Enjoy the ride. |

| The ride down was amazing. The day was an absolute ten. The next day was my first ride in a complete downpour. When I can get the pictures from my husband, I'll post some.
Oh well, I learned alot.
Thanks for the good wishes,

| I rode down the blue ridge on my Big Ruckus a couple of years back. You are right that is an amazing ride. I would like to do that on my Silverwing though. |

| We rode about 120 miles of our ride down the BRP in an extreme downpour / fog out. It was miserable riding along at less than 20 miles per hour, and having just an occasional glimpse of the tail light of the bike in front of you. In the sunshine this is an amazing ride, but the rain and fog really gets intense at the altitude.
The hotel in Boone, NC (where we stopped) was full of riders, who like us did not enjoy riding in the rain. |

| The lodge at Peaks of Otter was also filled with riders, and we all commiserated with each other and compared rain gear. We rode down off the mountain and wound up on 81 instead of the Blue Ridge to get home. But the 85 miles south the day before were breathtakingly beautiful and really relaxing. |
