| Hi. My name is Scootergal. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba,Canada. I have just bought a 2006 Silverwing. It has a backrest on it and a high windshield. I have a couple of questions. I would like to buy a top case for it-Givi E55. I want to travel outside the city, therefore I need luggage. I can't seem to find a site in Canada to buy this case. I need help! Also, is the 55 liter case too big for the scooter? Can a rear mounting kit fit on the back if there's a backrest on it? Also can a trailer be attached to the 600 CC? Is there a sidecar available? How about saddle bags? Lots of questions, I know. Is it easy to attach the rear mount and top case? Thanks Scootergal |

| Hello and welcome, Scootergal! Which backrest have you got? If it's the Givi one, the box will fit, too. Rear mount is easy to fit if you have a drill and drill-bit - two of the holes are the same for the backrest. There's a pictorial for that job on the forum. E55 is not too big but don't overload it. Givi saddlebags fit as do other brands. DennisB of this parish makes tow-bars for the Silverwing as well as lots of other nice bits Don't know for sure about sidecars - not details, anyway - but it's been done. |

| Scootergal, Welcome to the site and you come to the right place. DennisB, a moderator on this site, makes a hitch for the SWing (and other things) and does top quality work. Hopefully he will chime in about the case. The 55 liter case is the biggest case and sure will store plenty of stuff. It should do great for your trips. You might try www.scootertrap.com for things for the SWing. Matt is a good guy to work with. There is a Pictorial that will help with installing the case. If you go to the link below and then to Step 6. You will see 2 red circles that need to be drilled out for the backrest and below that 2 more just like it that need to be drilled out for the case. It is very simple to do too. The top 2 (with red circles around them) need to be drilled out just for a backrest, and all 4 holes will need to be drilled out for the Givi Mounting Plate. https://www.silverwing600.com/pictorials-how-to-perform-maintenance-f21/givi-passenger-backrest-installation-pictorial-t31.htm down load the "attachment" https://www.silverwing600.com/pictorials-how-to-perform-maintenance-f21/givi-passenger-backrest-installation-pictorial-t31.htmBut welcome to the site and you should review the Pictorial section and the modification sections to help you out. And others will chime in too. Post some pics of your SWing in the "Album" section. YOu can create your own folders for pics of your bike and the rides you do in the future.

| Hi Scootergal, Have you looked at the Coo Case brand of top case? It costs a bit less (States-side, anyway) than Givi but is really well made and has great features. Mine, one of the bigger ones, has brake lights built in, interior padding, remote locking and an alarm built in. It's also removable and holds a ton of stuff. (At least a helmet and jacket.) Happy riding, Janewayfan |

http://www.givi.ca/en/gamme_detail.php?val=28 or Compare against (add shipping and import taxes if applicable) http://www.helmetheadcycle.com/product/9100/givi-e55-maxia-monokey-case-deluxe-b-model - Scootergal wrote:

Givi E-52 dimensions in millimeters ( http://www.giviusa.com/cases/monokey/E52-MAXIA ): 315 (12.40") height 593 (23.34")width 447 (17.60") length Givi E-55 ( http://www.giviusa.com/cases/monokey/E55-MAXIA-3 ) dimensions: 320 (12.60") height 590 (23.23") width 480 (18.90") length So basically 1.3" longer length than my E-52. - Scootergal wrote:

I have the Givi E-52 with TB-19 with no problem. When I talked with a Givi representative at a motorcycle show, he said they learned on the earlier cases ... which is why the E-52 hinge for the lid is higher on the case to avoid interfering with the Givi backrest. The E-52 lid flips over the backrest. - Scootergal wrote:

Others may be able to provide more information here is a thread: https://www.silverwing600.com/silver-wing-topics-f3/saddle-bags-on-a-silverwing-t1447.htm#11866 - Scootergal wrote:

JeffR has a pictorial for the backrest ( https://www.silverwing600.com/pictorials-how-to-perform-maintenance-f21/givi-passenger-backrest-installation-pictorial-t31.htm?highlight=pictorial#67 ). The SR-19 will use all four holes and the TB-19 will share the two front holes.

| Too many to list, search trailer on this site and you will get 9 threads that should cover most if not all the possibilities we know of. Side car, a quick search of google renders these: http://www.texassidecars.com/Scooter.htm http://www.dmcsidecars.com/Sidecars/Honda_Silverwing_Scooter.htm Welcome to the site! Paul |

| Top Case--55 liter, too big for scooter, I have E46 that has been in service many years on several bikes, it also too big as weight up high, loaded has effect on handling of bike. Givi requires Givi rack. Their stuff is good. Cheapest, got to WalMart, HomeDepot buy cheap tool box, bolt directly to rear spoiler. Take spoiler off, holes are precast and only have to be drilled/ punched out. Some people do pull trailers with scooter----my opinion at best dangerous and hard on drive line. I have somewhere 75-100,000 miles experience with trailers on other bikes. Sidecar---Texas sidecar---but generally sidecar requires 20% reduction in gearing to work right. Altered fork trail, steering dampener, different skills than solo. I got my first sidecar outfit in 1959 when bikes left factory equipped to haul chair and rode them thru 1990---last being MZ that came from factory with sidecar. Again how long is the rubber band drive going to last doing something it wasn't designed to do? Some may not agree with what I say but I have wasted lots of money and learned the hard way over the years. Saddlebags---I assume throw over rear seat type----among other things, they leak. Better two rubber or canoe bags on seat behind you. Things stay dry. I am aware of no Hard, top opening bags available with made up mounts. John Grinsel |

| A slight digression: bigbird, have you tried mounting your saddlebags 'back-to-front', i.e. narrow end forwards? |

Aesthetics alone aren't a big necessity for me. I thought it might be something functional. On the other hand, I'll give it a try and see how they look. |

| In fact I think it makes them hang level so everything inside doesn't slide forwards. |

| Weird.
Reversed looks more level and normal, the Normal looks tilted and wrong.
Thanks for the pics, those saddlebags look huge. If I need more room for anything I will keep them in mind. |

| Mm. Normal, I think, especially as the bottom seems to be well-away from the silencer. Thanks for that, bigbird. When mine arrive I shall have a play. |

| MikeO, Did you manage to source the T427 locally in Belgium. I've tried to source them in the UK today, but Givi tell me they have been discontinued and nobody seems to have any stock. Last delivery by Givi to a UK supplier was last October apparently. I'm looking at alternatives on Friday. R |
