| I moved from Seattle to Yuma Az.
My license fees in the Seattle area was $125 per year for license plates.
Yesterday, I registered my Silverwing in Yuma, AZ and it costs me $93 for FIVE years.
My Goldwing was $155 a year in Seattle. I registered it for $90 for 2 years.
I am liking this. The weather is so much more conducive to riding and the licensing fees are so much lower. |

| You lucky people, you ! Here in South Australia it costs me USD350.00 to register my Swing for a year. Approx. half of that amount is Compulsory Third Party insurance. Add another USD140.00 for one year Comprehensive and petrol around US 85c per litre. |

| $43 per year (IIRC) here in FL, but no State income tax, and no insurance requirements for motorcycles--no helmet law either! |

| Again, you lucky people ! Penalty here for not wearing a helmet is USD190.00 on the spot. This is also applied if you don't have the strap done up correctly!!!!...........As happened to a fellow rider recently. Talk about revenue raising.

| It took five years for us to get the helmet law repealed, finally in 2000 the legislature listened to their constituents (many who didn't listen were gone) and voted to repeal.
There are no legitimate statistics that support helmets "saving lives" in serious crashes--at best with a helmet you'll break your neck and they can have an open casket without a lot of reconstruction expense.
It should be, and IS here, a personal decision. As Harry Callahan said, "It's important for a man to know his limitations." |

a few years ago 2011 or 2012 - Florida went NUTS and more than doubled registration fees for all vehicles (non commercial). Had to vote the bas*urds out and get the new folks to roll it back a bit - i just renewed for 2 years = $53.6, included a few bucks for the new license plate too! By the way all motorcycles in florida have same fee, but cars/trucks are weight categorized. Where we pay is the overcrowded roads, outrageously hot and humid weather plus flipp'n Hurricanes and a significant population that thinks they deserve government assistance for either being too young and unwilling to work or having put in a long career and 'retired to florida' with nothing but time on their hands! |
