2018 Maxi Scoot Meet up - Alabama - Sep 5-9

There is more detail becoming available so I thought I'd create a separate thread for this event.  Below is the link to this year's 2018 Maxi Scoot Meet Up near Scottsboro Alabama the week following Labor Day (Wednesday September 5 to Sunday September 9th).

This annual Maxi Scooter Meet Up attracts between 25-35 riders every year and it has been held for around a decade now give or take a couple of years.  The Meet Up's location changes every year allowing participants to experience different states and some of the best motorcycling roads, scenic beauty and historical and, tourist highlights those states have to offer.  

Although the majority of participants ride maxi-scooters and come from all over the USA and even Canada -- warmly welcomed are 3 wheeled trikes (Maxi-scoot conversions, Can-Am's etc.) and motorcycles of all kinds etc.  We are as diverse and inclusive as the machines we ride.  The only stipulation is that whatever you ride, you must be able to maintain highway speeds for safety and route planning purposes.

If you want to have a great time riding and socializing with other riding enthusiasts, sign up and join the fun.  There is no registration fee or costs other than covering your own accommodations, food/drinks and transportation expenses.

There's greasy spoon cafés over here that get at least double that number of riders turning up just for a Sunday breakfast and a bit of tyre kicking.

Nice.  How many thousands of kilometres/miles would they have ridden to get there?

We have THOSE kinds of riding hangouts and get-togethers too ... the Maxi Scoots annual Meet Up is unique.  It falls under the category "you have to experience it ... to fully understand it".  

Here's a get together not far from my hometown ... a short 2 hours away.  Last time I attended, there were over 100,000 bikes (crowd was estimated at 140,000 people).  Not my idea of a small, intimate group of riding friends.

I expect the event this July (on Friday the 13th of course) will draw similar numbers if the weather is decent which it should be.

Thanks, sonuvabug.  I kind of like the smaller Scottsboro (or Scootsboro), but both look interesting.  Maybe we can gradually come up with a list of maxi scoot or scoot events this year, to post in the Riding section. I think I read of one recently on this forum due in Mid-Ohio.

I would be up for that it is almost in my backyard.
