It is an extra $40 a year for motorcycle coverage. The $40 is not a huge issue but being stranded somewhere and calling AAA only to be turned away would be a huge issue. If you depend on AAA be sure you are covered for your Silverwing to avoid a bad surprise.
Bob and I have the AAA Plus. This covers RV’s and motorcycles for 200 miles from where you break down. Back in 2012 Bob’s Bike broke down on the top of Great Smokey Mt NP. I rode down to get better cell reception. Called AAA and they came out and got him from the top of the MT. This was a Friday late Afternoon in July. Placed the bike on a flat bed tow truck. Drove about 40 miles tonwhere we were staying.
We were going home the next day needed to be back to work on Monday. Decided to rent a truck from Knoxville to Chicago. Put both bikes in the truck drove home on Saturday. Got the bike over to the dealer. Dropped off the truck in Chicago. AAA covered the truck rental around $800 we paid for the gas.
Bike was ready to go in about a week. And ready for our next trip.
I also had an issue where my tire went bald on a trip in MO, called AAA they came and got me and the bike and drove me 50 miles to a place I could get the tire replaced. This took place on a Saturday afternoon into the evening.
Worth the extra money peace of mind for us.
