| Hi All, In reference to "Mike from NS" and his K-9 problems, I read about Terrier, Mighty Mouse, and sandancroy5's repairs of the muffler cover with carbon fiber sheets (vinyl or otherwise) or even just painting with heat resistant paint. Does the plastic chrome require any special treatment to prepare for these treatments (other than just roughing it up)???
The areas around the screw holes on mine are pretty rough plus I have about a three inch long by three sixteenths inch wide, verticle "wrinkle" some two inches aft of the leading edge (I guess it "stands" up a little over a sixteenth of an inch). I'm leaning toward just cleaning up around the rough areas and somehow removing that wrinkle and then just wrap the thing with the fiber. Any other ideas ??? Thanks. |

| Thanks "sand"... I was wondering about peeling that stuff off; it's nice knowing that's possible. Think I'll give it a try; reckon it wouldn't look good applying anything over that wrinkle thing no matter what I'd use. Still debating between some type of applique or painting though. Thanks again. |

| I had a small scuffed area around one of the bolts. I tidied it up with a razor blade and applied aluminium tape to it to match the area as close as possible. Looks okay for now, but I plan on doing the carbon fibre wrap down the road. Jay. |
