| Got 2 tyres a couple of weeks ago and in addition to the £73 bill was told the front disc had a hairline crack through it ! Best price was around £80 unless I bit the bullet and ordered one from China, £24 including postage. As no other local options decided to bite the bullet and ordered one on the 2oth june, surprisingly it arrived 28th june. 8 days from Chiina, ive had pads take longer from cardiff. Fitted it on Monday when temperature dropped a bit, didnt have chance to road test it monday so took it out on tuesday night when it was cooler, today took it to work and on the way home the abs light started flashing.
Pulled over and id lost one of the caliper bolts, didnt have a spare but made sure the top bolt was tight. Very gentle ride home, abs light now on permanently. Found a replacement bolt the correct size and length, realigned the caliper and bolt hole and tightened them both up. Abs light now working correctly.
Disc itself looks the part, fits perfectly and once the pads were bedded in performed ok.
All I want now is a month or so of not having to work on a car or bike, mot in 2 months.
Forgot to say, once again i dodged customs duty, was expecting a bill. Been very lucky in all my overseas purchases in the last 10 years or so, one of these days I'll get a bill. |

| Another name I know from the Goldwing world, nice to see you around Phil. Not everything from China is total crap, but it can be a case of lucky dip, from my experience. Glad your disc worked out well. |

| Foxy, yeah I did have the goldwing a GL1100, had to let her go earlier this year after 12 years, too big too heavy and too little time. Disc has only been on for about a 100 miles, only time will tell but am hopefull. |

| When I used to holiday(vacation) in America, many times, twenty years ago, nearly everything I could buy was made in China. I asked a store keeper once "Do you actually make anything in America " He said "China is a preferred trading partner". Leather goods came from Mexico. I have just bought a Scooter made in Taiwan ( Republic of China) so I hope quality is okay, I've done just over a thousand miles in two months and all seems well |
