| Hello all Now in my third season of scooting with my 2009 SW. After retirement I felt I needed some motorized two wheeling for fun and something mechanical to mess with. My son and brother-in-law are into HD's big time and since I live where they build them it might have been logical to own one. No, I went the SW way for economy (way cheaper to buy and maintain) and I liked the advanced engineering smoothness and precision of the Honda brand. That said, didn't know much about the Silver Wing if anything. I was looking for a used scooter on eBay saw an auction that was ending in IN figured if I won I go get it and trailer it back to PA. Won the auction and in talking with the seller (a great guy, very helpful) to work out details, my wife walked in over heard me and said "tell him I didn't approve of this"! Anyway it's all been good, I've added nearly 5000 miles and performed several needed routine tasks that has it running better than when I got it. My 2009 SW gives this old guy a thrill twisting the throttle while rolling and when I shoot off at green lights leaving the pack behind. Also, appreciate now joining the SW Forum fraternity. Love to hear from you! |

| Hi ITbe. I liked your intro. Honest stuff in there. How we got to be who we are. I love my swing, get on, turn the wick and off you go. I ll never figure why they didn't sell outside of HIGH Price. I wish for things like cruise control and a 5.5 gallon gas tank.
Maybe add a 3rd cylinder, supercharger and a coffman starter. |

| Welcome Freddie to the BEST SWing site on the net. I have an 08 SWing that I had converted over to a trike this past winter. It's really nice. |

| Great story, Freddie-1. I got 3 months of cold shoulder, not to mention showers, from my honey when I announced that I was taking the MSF to start riding! Glad you found us; keep the stories coming.

| You got of lightly. When I announced I was buying a scooter my nearest and dearest responded with words to the effect of "what the f*** do you want one of them for?". A short time later I enticed her onto the back seat with the promise of cake, and now I can't get her of the damn thing! Brilliant two up touring bikes these scooter things :-) |

| Welcome. I'm also a Central PA resident. Yes, got to try out new Harleys at the York, PA plant. Brutal power, but vibrations that don't diminish at any speed.
SWing is soooo much smoother with twist and go comfort. Hard to go back to clutches, shifters, stalls, etc.
I saw a Swing in my area about two months ago. They are rare to spot around here. Maybe it was you.

| I've put some miles on my SW, mostly within 30 miles of home in Manchester. The 2009 paint was what I'd call old hot rod candy apple red. Was on rt 30 in York this week when a "mature" women next to me at a light said "that's a nice looking bike", I thanked her and said "just perfect for an old guy". Made her smile. |

My other half has ridden bike for many years, when we first met in the 90's she had one of the first R1'... and she knew how to use it. I still remember the first time she took me to the TT (Isle of Man), she knew the place and I didn't so I had to keep up over The Mountain so I didn't get lost. Past a police car at about 110mph and still accelerating hard to keep her in sight, but thankfully that's quiet acceptable on The Island. But now she has stopped riding and would rather sit on the back of my scooter. And I do about twice the miles on Scootie as I do on the Super Tenere. Funny old world... |
