| I expect to be back on a Silverwing tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it. The BMW GT is a fine but big machine, good on the highway but not as handy in town as my previous Silverwings were.
This one is a low mileage 2008 with pretty low mileage, non ABS unfortunately but a shiny black color. I think I should break my rule and ride with my black leather bike jacket and my white helmet. Maybe I'll get a little more courtesy on the road since that would look pretty much like the Medford Police. I will be putting a modulator in the bike as I did with all my previous bikes except the GT which had a CANBUS electrical system and didn't like things connected that the computer didn't recognize. I'll also be installing my two air horns that I had on my previous Silverwing. No meep meep horn for me.
Anyway looking forward to riding one of the nimble machines again. |

| I don't remember for sure but I put them down in the radiator area. When I have that bike I'm buying here I can look at it and tell you for sure. I used a pair of short trumpet type horns on my Goldwing and my first SW and a 'Snail' type on another. Here's a couple of sources. https://www.ebay.com/bhp/motorcycle-air-horn Harbor freight has some inexpensive horns.
I wired mine in parallel with the original horn. The air horns have a couple seconds delay after you hit the horn so I could just give a short beep from the original horn or if I held the button down for a couple seconds the airhorns would blow. Sure gets a lot more attention than "meep-meep". I still have the old horns I'll dig them out and let you guys know how and where I mount them in a couple weeks. With pictures I hope. |
