Hi Forum,

Thanks for having a place to find help for the Silver Wing.
My name is Mike and I live in central Florida where the weather is always warm (HOT).

I have been riding motorcycles since I was a teenager and enjoy the
open air. I enjoy just leisure rides on nights and weekends.

I decided to sell my 84 Goldwing (a week ago) so I could get a three wheel vehicle. My hips have been acting up. So I found this 2011 Kandi Viper reverse trike on Craig's List. It needs some work though.

Two owners ago the creative guy welded the back frame of an 04 Swing to the Viper.

The engine seems sound had 22,000 miles on it. However when I bought it I was aware that when you hit the brakes hard the engine stalls. If you come to a coasting stop no problems. I figured maybe it was a vacuum problem. I had it for a few days and used the carb spray but I could'nt find a leak.

I included a picture of how the gas tank is mounted-mostly horizontal. I looked on the internet but couldn't find any pictures of how it's mounted in the scooter. Can anyone answer that question for me because maybe this is the reason for the stall.

I'd just lay the tank verticle and try that but I'd have to cut it out to do that. So I wanted to wait to hear from someone here before I start cutting.

Thanks, Mike

Hello Mike, welcome to the forum.
The SW fuel tank is located beneath the seat and in front of the engine and behind the radiator location.

Yeah I suppose a couple of photos of your Frankenscoot would help here.

Thank you Cosmic Jumper for your description of the tank location. However I should have ask if the tank is sitting vertical or horizontal in the Silver Wing. In my previous post I made a mistake I should have said mine sits mostly vertical. Due to this I'm wondering if the tank may not be getting enough fuel if it sloshes around at full stop. Since it may have been designed to sit fully horizontal for the fuel pump to work properly.

BTW, I like your name for the Viper "Frankenscoot."
