Hi, I’m Clive from the Yarra Valley Victoria Australia. Just purchased a 2007 600 Wing with 26000 kms on board. Have had a life time of motorcycles ,now 72 and feeling the need for something new . With some niggling injury problems after years of dirt riding, the legs don’t swing over as easily so hence the scooter. I plan to ride it round Australia next year a journey of 15000 Kms over 2 months. I think the Swing will be just the beast. Any tips for long distance riding gratefully accepted. Looking forward to being part of the forum. Clive

Welcome aboard from Medford, Oregon, USA! You'll find a lot of collected information on the Silver Wing here. These are excellent touring scooters and are as trouble free as a Honda should be. I also moved down from heavier touring bikes. I have at one time or another owned all models of Honda Goldwings from the 1000 to the 1800 but old age made it necessary to go to something that's easier on my hands, no more clutch work with arthritis. Also a 900+lb. bike was becoming pretty heavy to horse around.

"15000 Kms over 2 months" you better have a soft pillow with you or an iron butt. With that kind of journey , do not forget riding is fun but stopping and taking in a moment the scenery is quite rewarding. Take a log with pictures and post here, I and I bet the rest of us would be quiet interested. Oh an welcome from the direct opposite on the globe.
