Just joined this forum after many years of viewing it .
I have owned a Silverwing 2001 model for the last 13years and enjoyed every minute of it. Bought bike after major motorcycle accident in 2004 which left me with reduced movement in right ankle which made it difficult to use foot brake. Didn't think I'd like maxi scooters but was the only option I thought I could take due to ankle. Boy what a surprise absolutely love it and pleased I took the plunge into Maxi Scooter world.
Have done many mods on bike including Hagon rear shocks which made a big difference to handling. Already had uprated front fork springs when purchased, stripped and rebuilt front forks, Dr Pulleys rollers 26gram which make the bike smoother in my option, powder coated wheels as awful finish by Honda.

Welcome Ian. Glad to hear your 2001 model is still giving sterling service. I think you and I are in a minority by owning a 2001 model and personally I think it has some benefits over later models; a light switch for instance. (oops! I've started a controversy).

You'll find everything you need to know on this forum, if you don't know it already! Well worth signing up. thumbs up

BTW, I also have that stator seal leak but it's so slight I just live with it. It's never left any spots of oil on the garage floor.

Thanks for welcome Loosemarbles.
Stator oil seal leak has been only slight for a few years but has now developed and leaves a drop or two of oil on garage floor especially after long ride. Decided to repair it now as have no work on due to this Covid20 issue and having done everything else that needed doing (as per wife's list) thought this would be the ideal time !
