Hello future scooter fans… I Had an opportunity (in my retirement years ) to purchase a non-running 03 silver wing at a estate auction and I thought what the heck, with the Honda Name how hard could it get?? However, in South Western PA I’m running out a nice weather to at least try it out before next spring… It appears like these parts are a little pricey but I plan on having this Burgundy wing looking new again when I’m all done with it. 4K on the odometer… It has to have a lot of potential, and I can put my heavy road bike aside and “scoot” around with this! signed, SY (ie silver years, lol)

Welcome aboard the board SY. Buying at an auction with unknown history is a little risky but as you stated, it's a Honda. Work through the issues one-by-one and you'll get close to your "new again" goal. Lots of know-how here and good people willing to share it. Ignore the others.

Oh yes, get your hands on a Factory Service Manual ... it will be invaluable to you. Check the Buy/Sell forum ... they sometimes pop up there.

Welcome SY and congratulations on the new bike.
A 16 year old bike with 4k on the clock is going to be mechanically sound but in need of some servicing and at that age I'd be looking at the drive belt and tyres too.
It'll keep you out of mischief through the winter.

Welcome SY to the best forum I know of. I got my 2007 Swing this August and I do my own maintenance. I’ve found it to be easy to work on (after you get the plastic off). The search box will be your best friend (after your service manual, available on eBay). I really like my Swing and have been driving it around the mountains of New Mexico, can still ride not too cold yet. Help is only a click away.
