| Throw another log on the fire these dark, cold winter nights. The coming weeks are sure to bring light and warmth as we start the yearly cycle again. Happy Solstice. |

| To many solstice is the important, and original, one as it marks the turning point towards summer. So Happy Solstice to you all. And may I be the first to say "the nights will be drawing in soon" |

| Happy Solstice from Nova Scotia.
What a great picture Tim. So cozy if you imagine that log on the fire.
No snow like that here ... mild temperatures predicted and what snow we had last week has been washed away with heavy rain and fog. The Solstice was a soggy and foggy day here.

| Yes. Happy Solstice which happened at 4:02 this morning here in "Sunny and Warm" Minnesota. It's supposed to come in with a bang tomorrow, 12-23. We are forecast to get between 2-5" of the fluffy stuff with up to 50 mph gusts to blow it all around. I just hope it blows it into my neighbor's yard. The shop came and picked up my less than a year old snowblower today to replace a bad carburetor that's not covered under the warranty. Go Figure. |

| I add my greetings.
On Monday, the Winter Solstice in England, I drove down to Terrace Green on the cliff-top, a grassy 'square' where the War Memorial is, to take photos of the sunrise. However, the sun didn't appear; the sky was very cloudy. It didn't matter, though, and I felt I'd satisfied my ancient British feelings.
If one stands looking out to sea (the North Sea) one is facing due East, towards the rising sun.
If you Google 'the green seaham' and go to 'images' you will find many pictures of it. |
