Hi there.
I'm David from the valley's just north of Caerphilly in South Wales UK.
I've been a silverwing owner for a year now after upgrading from a
Kawasaki j300, I also ride a suzuki v-strom 650, both are 2013 models.
I use the SW more as a second or bad weather ride but I did just over 5000 miles in the last year and about 7000 miles on the v-strom.
Thanks for letting me in.

Welcome Dave, and well done for still doing more miles on the big bike than the scooter. Since I got my Silverwing it outdoes the other two every year, I've even started taking Scootie to bike rallies, which does cause some confusion 😁

Welcome aboard the board David. Lots of great information on this site you can access using the "Search" function.  If you can't find your answer that way, just ask and its likely someone can answer your question.

Pics would be great.

Welcome along David. The J300 looks like a great scoot and I hope you enjoy your SW even more.

I like to think that this forum has just about got the SW covered thumbs up

Thanks for the welcome.
I know the J300 is a rebadged kymco downtown but it's a great scooter, it's about as quick as the SW up to 60 mph and handles better (probably because it's a lot lighter) but at 70 odd mph your nearly at the rev limit, I would have blown the engine if I kept it much longer because I always seem to use fast A roads where I travel LOL.

Then the SW will be perfect. I also like to get a move on when riding but the SW is a real joy when easing off and enjoying the scenery. There's some extra power there when you need it.

It's a great second bike (in my case seventeenth bike) with great utility value and great motorway comfort and performance.
