| Hi Again... When fiddling with my ignition switch recently, I managed to break off an "ear" (hand guard) portion of my Givi windshield on the right side (while pushing the SWing back into my storage area)... it was a clean break and now I'm wondering what to use to fasten it back on... looked in the search area and haven't found anything yet... I think someone mentioned using "MEK" (methyl ethyl ketone)?? at one time... am I on the right track here or should I be trying something different...?... I don't know if that's the same stuff our fabrication people used to us when making plexiglass boxes or not... I've got some jbweld and some gorilla glue someplace but would rather use something a bit more professional... |

| My 2¢. I’d hold off on the Gorilla Glue and JB Weld for the moment.
First step I’d do is to make that clean break into a “V” groove. Maybe on both inside and outside of the screen.
2nd step would be to use an acrylic welding cement, such as Weldon IPS acrylic cement, to bond the broken ear to the windscreen.
3rd step would be to hot staple wire pieces to stitch the broken piece to the windscreen
And if needed, 4th step would be to apply Plast-aid or some similar product to the “V” groove to finish bonding the pieces.
My sense is that unless the repair is reinforced by heat welding that a “glued” repair just won’t hold up.
Please let us know how you get on with repairing the windshield break. |

| Thanks Tim... sounds a bit technical for me but willing to try anything... Where does one acquire that Weldon cement...? |

| I reattached one of my hand guard with some kind of super glue for plastics, but could not hide the repair. Ended up covering the "ear" with a carbon fibre wrap. I used chrome automotive door edging to conceal the edge of the wrap. Now I am always cautious when pushing the trike around. Placed a pic in my album. |

https://www.amazon.com/IPS-Weld-Acrylic-Plastic-Cement/dp/B0149IFA9O You might find it cheaper elsewhere. But if you’ve got Amazon Prime you won’t have to pay shipping. |
