| My son just purchased the above and loves it so far. I believe the engine is 1100cc plus he got the DCT as he commutes in a large city. When he first got it the fuel economy was high 40's MPG (US). Now he has it broken it in it is approaching 60 MPG! Yes he uses it as an adventure bike plus a commuter! It amazes me what Honda can do. I haven't got to ride it yet but I will!!! My only gripe is the chain drive... But I guess nowadays the X-ring chains last nearly as long as our drive belts. |

| Modern chains if looked after will usually cover 30k miles no problem. I'm too lazy to do the cleaning and lubing bit so always fit a Scottoiler to my chain bikes. Shaft, belt or chain all have pros and cons and I have no preference of one over the other. The Africa Queens are nice bikes, the only thing that puts me off the first of the new ones is the need for inner tubes. |

| When I bought my 2018 NC750X dct, I was also looking at the African Twin. It’s a beautiful bike and the dct transmission is better than anyone understands who has never tried one.
In the end I “settled” on the NC750X because it was considerably less expensive but also because the African Twin was a much taller bike with a much higher center of gravity. I was just getting back on bikes following four strokes and my left leg still was weak, so I needed the lower bike with lower center of gravity.
I sold the NC750X two years ago and went for two years without any two wheeled conveyance. It was killing me. I’m glad I found the Silverwing. |

| A little late but I did get to ride this bike last summer! Very nice and quick for sure. The DCT is a dream, my only problem is with the height of it. I had to tippy toe it when stopped. I am 6'0" or so but my son is 6'5" so he has no such problems. You should have seen him on my Forza...LOL |

| A few years ago I test rode the Africa Twin and the NC700. In both cases I had to tippy-toe to touch the ground. I'm 6 foot and wasn't very reassuring.
A lot of modern incarnations of bikes seem to adopt this high seating position. I wonder if the BMW GS series should come with a ladder! |

| I'm a long term fan of the Big Trailie bikes, to date that has included two triumph tigers (885 & 1050), GS1150, TDM 900 and the current Tenere 1200, they just seem to fit my gangly frame better. It does make me chuckle when I see short folks struggling with these bikes because they are the fashionable thing. If a bike doesn't fit just accept it and move on, there are bike I would love to ride but are just too small for me. |

I could ride it but it was not a joy especially off-road. Just plain too big and bulky for me. Hence the trade for the SWing and loving it! |
