My first maxi-scooter was a 2003 Silver Wing. Bought it on Christmas Eve in 2016.
A few years later I bought #2 because I loved the color so much (Candy Glory Red).
Last night I bought #3 in that color. It keeps calling me. I keep answering.
In this case, it's part of a Fly 'n Ride. Two weeks from now I will fly from South Florida to Plattsburgh, New York. I'll pick up the bike and ride through the Adirondack Mountains in the heart of summer. After a month in my hometown of Rochester, I will ride 1,400 miles home to Florida. Not many interstates in the plan, lots of 50 mph back roads.
(Hopefully Buffalo Bills camp will still be in progress in Rochester. This is the year, you can feel it. Go Bills!).
For several years I've been a dedicated BMW C 650 GT rider. That's my bike. My current GT is a 2019 in matte blue. That will get a little rest in the garage while I have fun with the Honda. Didn't think I'd ever own one again but here I go with Silver Wing #5 (also owned a 2008 and 2012, both with Corbin seats).
The bike was recently updated by a gentleman who was going to carry it with his mobile home until his wife announced she was not riding on it. Apparently she was spoiled by his Gold Wing, so they are hauling that. He had to get rid of the Wing and there I was.
It has a new OEM belt and Dr. Pulley sliders (28-gram). New engine oil and filter. New air and CVT filters. New tires and battery. New spark plugs. New brake pads and fluid. Not a whole lot left to do but ride it. Odometer says 24,010 miles and the sale price was $2,000. The GIVI top case has lights linked to the brakes along with a strip of strobed lights.
This forum has been a regular part of my lurking rounds for years, along with Burgman USA (owned three 650's). I admire the passion here for Silver Wings. Hopefully I won't need to ask for any technical support in the coming weeks and months!
