| Sorry about not coming on very much lately. I'm having medical problems with my intestines and might have to go in for surgery. They haven't decided on that yet. I was in the emergency room last thursday and friday and finally did a self-checkout friday evening around 8 pm. For two days my diet was ice chips and water. NO food. They said there were NO room available in the whole state of MN for any surgery so I had to wait for one. I was stuck in that small room for two days and couldn't even walk outside for some fresh air. If I did go outside I'd be self- checking myself out according to them. When I got home around 8:45 friday evening and sat at my kitchen table I started to relax and feel a whole lot better. In the hospital I was lucky to get 1/2 hour of sleep with them coming in to change the IV bags and people walking up and down the hall. I went to bed around midnight and got 4 1/2 hours of solid sleep. Anyway, that's a short rundown on what's been happening on my end. I pray that none of you are having any medical problems. I'll try to keep you posted. Have a GREAT day and stay safe and healthy!!!! |

| Sorry to hear your under the weather Dale, seems you and I are awaiting a similar mechanic, but in my case because they tell me I'm cancer free, they have other priorities taking up surgical resources, "I'm on the list!" here's more painkillers! And as well all know anything after 60 for us is always going to be "medical problems". And yes "there's no place like home" once they let you out lol.
You have a relaxing day
Be safe, be seen! |

| Hey Dale, Sorry to hear you’ve been victimized by our superb medical system. No doubt you would fare better if you were a politician.
Here’s hoping you get well soon. |

| In general, you NEVER get rest of any kind in a hospital. Sorry to hear of the medical issue- is it that there’s no OR time available, short staff, or short on supplies to do surgery? That’s crazy that you can’t have a surgery you need…I can understand cancelling elective cases. |

| Sorry to hear of your woes, Dale but I can relate... I was taken to Kingman Regional Hospital in Arizona for VTAC a very serious heart ailment... Took tests and they decided I needed a def-fib unit implanted. Three places close that can do that. Flagstaff, Phoenix and Las Vegas... Flag was snowed in but they transferred me to LV for testing and the procedure. BUT it was over New Years so they couldn't do the surgery until the following Wednesday. So I entered the emergency room in LV then they had no room so I was put on a gurney in the hall for 7 hours. Finally I was placed in an overflow unit (very small room) until they could get me a real room! Was there from Friday to Monday afternoon when I finally got a REAL room (quite nice actually). My surgery was done on Wednesday and they let me escape on Thursday. A full week of this stuff UGH. My heart seems OK now but probably won't be when I get the bill for all this... |

| Glenn, it is good to read that you are out and doing better. Medical is just another business these days but the lack of empathy is surprising and is not new. Many years ago I was mugged and had several cuts in my scalp from a piece of pipe. The EMTs insisted that I lie on a large board that was on the gurney because I could have neck problems. That occurred at about 7 AM. I was wheeled from place to place until about 5 PM while they made as much money as possible by running tests (Workers Compensation Case) and they would not let me get off that lousy board.
Finally, a nurse came to sew the cuts in my scalp at around 4 PM. I was in so much pain from the board that I hardly noticed the damage to my head. I still despise that entire hospital.
My posts may wander and go astray at times. Perhaps that experience was a contributor. |

| Thanks for all the kind wishes. YUP hospitals aren't any fun for sure. I sent a message to my doctor here in Princeton letting him know how happy I was. Up here for our hospital system we have an app called "My Chart" and I used it to send my doctor a message asking about a Penicillin shot, which was one of the treatments for the colon infection I have. Not sure when he'll get back to me on this but I hope it's before Feb. 7th. I'm not allergic to Penicillin and have had it before when I was young. Maybe, just maybe, that would take care of the infection and I'd be done. I guess time will tell. I also think they bounce us around just for the Bucks they will make off us and insurance. Anyway, I'll keep you all posted as much as I can between Dr visits. |

| Yes sir, Dale... seems as though many of us have been through similar circumstances, especially at "our" ages... ... Just a few years ago, even I spent a full day and a half laying in a hospital bed (at least it had a mattress) waiting for a doctor to interview and release me after a dehydration fainting spell... So that "been there- done that" phrase certainly applies... Anyway, hope your situation continues to improve and that it's nothing serious to contend with... |

| Certainlly could be an age thing, Dicko. Two weeks ago I was getting dressed about 8am, when I completely lost the use of my left arm, flopping about useless. Wife gets me in the car, straight to the local (very small) hospital. They kindly tell me they are only an Urgent Care Centre, so they don't deal with my problem - turns out to be a TIA, minor stroke. An hour later, I'm on the way by ambulance to the stroke unit 25 miles away in the large city hospital. Sat in the waiting room for 2 hours, finally saw someone at 2pm, then back to the waiting room, before the specialist nurse sees me. CT scan, blood samples taken, medication given, discharged at 9pm. Back the next morning for Ultrasound scan, then home. Yesterday, my next appointment was for an MRI scan at the local hospital (the one that doesn't deal with my problem!?). That was like laying in a steel tube while someone belted the outside with big hammers! Spent all yesterday with a headache, now got two weeks wait for more results. Still here though. |

| Sorry to hear you've been put through the mill Dale.
I was given very strict instructions from my Mother who ordered me 'never to get old'. Those words always stick in my mind. Sadly, my body wasn't listening because it was busy doing other things.

| Just as a point of interest, cello33 wrote, "I did find time to install the two little fork springs and check and replace the fork oil but not tried her out yet....still thats for another thread! ATB Smile" Is that the mod of using the short rebound springs in place of the spacer in the forks, look forward to your report on them. I do if required have a link for a seller of Hyperpro spring sets for a Swing in the Uk, as I have just fitted a set to my Swing. Be safe, be seen. |

That short rebound spring is in addition to the preload spacer. Not in place of the spacer. |

| Confirmed Cosmic, Lil preload spring, spacer and and extra washer.
Not trying to derail this thread but I did notice that one of the standard springs had a chrome insert at one end but the other fork did not until a black insert (that would not fit into the fork spring fell out of the other leg when draining the oil, mmmmmmmm!
I did try stacking some washers in the fork leg before so maybe I found this 10-15mm insert piece and dropped it in the bottom of the leg but honestly cant remember doing it. Both fork legs had about the same resistance when popping the screw caps in so I,m hopeful that there will be less bottoming out but yes Hypro Springs sound the easier way to get the desired fork performance. |

Keep the chin up, there's a lot of life to be lived ahead, and positivity really helps when you're ailing.

| OMG. I was having a good morning until I read all about your medical issues. I'm really sorry to hear about how badly you were taken or not taken care of. I wish you all the best for a swift recovery my friend. Kind of reminds me of my having to wait three months to get my scooter in for repair, where it finally is today waiting for the Dr. To fix my no-start. Fantastic. After waiting 3 months the mechanic said it was ready and was only a bad connection he thinks. 95.00 Happy happy joy joy.

| Quality of medical care in US ranked 36th in world last time I checked and probably less than that in WI where I am right now----been in emergency room twice in the past 2 months---first breathing after 6 teeth removal-----they tried to sell me cane/walker/and oxygen bottle---cool retail bill for 4 days, $20,000----last time was for Hernia that popped out, Dr popped back in, but they tried to sell me an operation---I said no thanks and got out of there(same place had screwed up my right foot with their knives!)-----not eating....my experience, stroke in Mayo Hosp---all I could get out of them was frozen chicken dinner. I am lucky that VA pays discounted price on my medical with their community care program. Otherwise I am doing fine and not planning on croaking for awhile. |

| I live in Santa Barbara California 3 blocks from Cottage Hospital and Samson Medical clinic. I have been extremely lucky at almost 75 to be very healthy, except for loosing brain function. Haha Our Medical system is top notch. I am covered by both the VA and Medicare insurance and just had my annual physical. I told the Dr that I drink vodka every day, I smoke the funny stuff and I workout apx 6hr a week hard, doing 🧘 walking and dancing with weights ,listing to my favorite music close to the ocean. I'm so flexible, I can put my foot on top of my head. All my blood work is excellent and blood pressure in check. SO FAR SO GOOD. GOD willing I will make it to 75. Hahaha |
