Greetings all. Got my swing about a month ago. Been mining info here since then and figured it was time to raise my hand and say Here I am. Smile The scooter is a 2008 and I'm lovin' it. I should have done this years ago. Had a Helix once and was looking for that easy chair ride but something that was more freeway friendly. The swing is the answer. Only mods so far are the Givi Air Flow windscreen. Love it. And the 8" x 1.25" pipe nipple to help with the Center Stand issue. I have to say, that suggestion was Brilliant! This will be my warmish weather commuter and day tripper bike. It replaces my 2007 Honda Shadow Areo 750 easily. That's it for now. It's back to the forums to find those post on wiring up the plug in the left side glove box. Thanks for having this treasure chest of knowledge. I'll pass along anything I come up with on my own. Cheers!

A warm welcome to Sparky Smith from the UK.
I guess you've already worked out that the search box is your best friend here, for the wealth of knowledge stored within.
All inputs welcome to.

Welcome to the forum Sparky.

I use to know a hobo named Sparky Smith from Iowa. But he’s long since gone as are my freight hopping days.

Regarding a power outlet in the left cubby for our FSC Silverwing models. The most practical solution to that would be to poke a hole in that rubber plug and wire up a cigarette lighter. Let the whole thing hang loose in the cubby. Run the wire thru the hole and feed it back to the battery. Take off the left floor skirt and the windscreen garnish (bat-shaped panel below the windscreen) and fish a wire up along side of the cubby. Fuse the wire of course.

I’ve been looking for a proper power outlet since I’ve owned my Silverwings. The configuration of the cubby at that rubber plug precludes mounting anything but the “official” Honda socket —which isn’t available here in North America. And Honda wants stupid money for that outlet socket as supplied on the European FJS Silverwings.(Accessory Socket Assy, part# 39600-MCT-000)

A warm welcome from the Netherlands Sparky
And congrats with your SiWi, I wish you many safe miles, great travels and lots of enjoyment. Go look for the service manual, it will be helpful in understanding your SiWi.
Thnx to the forum, I found a ton of information and with the help of all the members, I learned to maintain her myself.
There are also several international Facebook groups on the Silverwing.

I also have a '08 and of course she's an European Silverwing. A FJS400 in Heavy Grey Metallic. My first SiWi was a FJS600 from '01.

Greetings from the Netherlands 🙏🏻Central Arizona Here Fjs_6010

I'm surprised to see Dutch Silverwing's 08 FJS400 appears not to have ABS, I thought it was STD. after 07 or was it just the FJS 600 ?
Not to confuse them with the FWC version.

Hello JohnyC,
ABS was an option for both 600 & 400 from '07 and younger.
Btw did you mean FSC instead of FWC?

Greetings from the Netherlands
