belt squeak - Belt rollers Empty
PostSubject: Belt rollers   belt squeak - Belt rollers I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 03, 2024 1:39 pm

I just checked on fowlers honda in Bristol UK and a set of drive belt rollers are £92.43 (yikes),
I really can't afford to pay that after loosing my job last week,
So does anyone know of another UK supplier that sells them ??
I've been on e-bay and there's loads for sale but they're all from Europe and around £30 plus £30 delivery.
I don't even know if I need them but I'm due the 32,000 mile(second) belt change and I didn't change them last time.
Thanks in advance.
Dewi.

I just remembered David Silver spares and they have a genuine set but only list abs models from 2001 to 2006, mine is a 2013.
Is this the correct part for the 2013?
Part No_
22123MCT000
22123-MCT-000
These are £55 including delivery.
Thanks.

Hi Dewi,

The roller set is the same all through the production run of the Silverwing. Ref 22123MCT000.
Yes, Fowlers have always been bloody expensive. They were £75 last year!

Your in catch22 really, you can't tell what needs replacing until you strip the drive train down and inspect eg. frayed belt and roller flat spots. And having striped down it would be nice to have a pile of parts to hand for the rebuild. Saying that.

I do have a spare set of used once OEMs rollers(experiment) I could donate to a worthy cause should I deem it necessary.
Maybe we could hook up, just a thought, as I am in Bristol.

Be safe, be seen!

Ps. your welcome to PM me.

Thank you JohnyC.
I checked on some other sites and found that all years are the same size rollers so I've ordered the set from David silvers but thank you so much for the offer.
I changed the belt and rollers on my daughters pantheon 125 a few weeks ago and her top speed has gone from 63mph to 76mph LOL.
The old rollers had large flat spots on both sides at 28,000 miles.

Glad to read your fixed Dewi.

While your in the variator, check the roller channels for pitting at the start of their travel, that can cause jerky start up. Polish the roller grooves with something like Autosol chrome cleaner to smooth them out. Rinse well after doing so.

just my pennies worth.

Be safe, be seen!

And while you're in there pull the clutch and give it a clean, those pins the blocks pivot on get gummed up.
