| Dark red 2004 Honda Silverwing with recent complete overhaul by Honda Service, new tires. Extras include 12v plug for accessories, windscreen extender, top case, and FOBO brand tire pressure sensors (reads out via cell phone). Custom phone mount with extra vibration protection. Two map pockets, one lockable, and a lot of room under the seat. The gas piston that holds the seat up does not; I have a replacement strut, but frankly don't know how to install it. A little block of wood holds the seat up just as well. This motorcycle is in excellent condition. One mar on the body as shown in pic. Automatic--no shifting required. 600cc--surprisingly fast. Comfortable seating position. This bike can commute or serve as a light touring bike. Highway capable, I found greater joy in setting Google Maps to "no highways" and taking side roads. Nimble, quick, low center of gravity. Don't be fooled by the "scooter" format. Of course, none of you need all the extra detail, I'm copying the text from my Craigslist posting, which so far has generated two different scam attempts (the "I'll send you numbers to confirm you're not a scammer" Google Voice scam, and a new one on me, a "use this site to get a vehicle report" scam that references a six-month old site with no social media posts that also isn't on the US Government list of companies that do this work. I've done some light touring and find age has reduced my willingness to be on a motorcycle all day. I'll be using a truck for such adventures, it seems.... Bike near Princeton, NJ. I've got photos, but my record getting them to appear on this forum is mixed at best. Looks like the pics worked. |

| If these are not the rules for buying/selling, they should be, tired of seeing people ruin a transaction with their opinions, Flame Suit On 1. No posts with negative comments or complaints about the price. They will be deleted and infractions/bans can be issued at moderator's discretion. 2. Pricing is set by the seller, if you want to make an offer of a different price, send it in a PM, otherwise buy it from someone else. 3. Try to keep for sale threads on topic. 4. The seller sets the conditions of the sale, if you don't agree, buy it from someone else. 5. No trying to buy stuff off other people's wanted threads. 6. Don't piggyback off someone else's for sale thread to sell your own stuff. Make a new thread to sell your own item. 7. Once the transaction is complete, the seller should create a new post with "SOLD" in the body so that the admin team can easily identify and archive the thread. |

Thanks! Just fielded third Craigslist scam attempt--for those not in the know, a new one one me = "hey I'm really interested, but need you to use this web site..." the idea being they want you to go to some web site to get a Carfax-like report on your vehicle. So far, I seem to have wasted my five bucks at Craigslist |

| The price is high 20-year-old bike now. High car-bike prices are gone with this economy, interest rates are high. Boom is over.
I could buy a 2012-13 much less miles for $4-5K any time. |

| I thought this was a " for sale thread", not an opinion poll on selling price ? IAC, to O/P, what exactly you mean by " Dark red 2004 Honda Silverwing with recent complete overhaul by Honda Service, " What exactly was done and/or needed, maybe link craigslist add. |

| Isn't it rather pointless arguing over someone trying to sell a 20 years old Silver Wing on a forum for Silver Wing owners where the vast majority of active members already own one.
Yes, I'm in the UK, a former Silver Wing owner that did more riding than tinkering and happy downsized to the then all new Forza 300 back in late 2019. However out of habit I still have a weekly online look at the Silver Wings for sale over here. I spotted my old Silver Wing for sale again about three years ago, and it might even show up again sometime.
So if I was in the market for another Silver Wing and that dark red 2004 Silver Wing showed up for sale online over here, I'd look at the pic briefly and scroll on.
It's 20 years old, most likely an early thirsty non-ABS model, it has those awful colour matched side storage compartments, the useless OE Honda screen with one of those cheapo Velcro attached screen extenders that were popular when that Silver Wing was new, the name of which I've long forgotten.
The owner(s) couldn't have been much of an enthusiast if they've never fitted mirror extenders in 20 years, and as a wild card guess I'd be curious what the current state that soft alloy sump plug is in.
Anyway over here there's currently only 3 Silver Wings for sale on line this week. An overpriced 2001 model, with 7 previous owners, I'd avoid that one, and a 2012 and a 2013 models, both of which are the much more fuel efficient later models Both of them have selling prices cheaper and more realistic than that earlyone on here.
Y'all have a nice day now.

| WOW, some people just " Can help themselves " and feel the need to verse their opinion publicly on a "For Sale" thread, on the value/asking price of item, literally F/U any hope of selling at all. It may be wiser to PM same info, than publicly "Calling - Out" opinions. My low tolerance for rudeness has precipitated me in similar behavior, but since we are past the niceties, in all in. |

| Get over yourself mate, this a forum, an online medium where ideas and views on a particular subject can be exchanged.
There's a far bigger online Silver Wing group on Facebook where any old online troll, keyboard warrior, or someone with an alternative FB profile can join in. For example there's someone on there calling himself zxr213.
In fact if you've got a low tolerance for rudeness you want to stay clear of Facebook altogether.

| Someone was just a bit sensitive. For years we have tried to steer members to a reasonable price. Never are they told to CHANGE their price.
Another thing to consider is that we all live in different areas and or countries so prices will vary.
Personally I doubt if I could get 4K for my 2012... Not that I want to sell it. |

| I just checked Facebook Marketplace out here in the Denver area (BTW, Facebook might be a better place to sell motorcycles these days than CL) (BTW DickO, BTW means "by the way" ) and we have four Silverwing's up for sale: 3 2004 models and a 2003. They're ranging in price from $2500 - $3000. So every area of a country will pay the going rate, whatever it may be. On the other hand, some of these bikes have been up on Facebook Marketplace for quite a few weeks. Sometimes the posters will drop prices if they are really anxious to sell. Whatever the market will bear. I'm pretty sure I could sell my 2004 Silverwing in a day - with the right price! Sorry about all the Craigslist foolishness that has developed over the years. It makes a great thing like a local sales list into a sometimes nightmare. Keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up. - Mark |
