| Well I finally managed to find out how to set the H.I.S.S. last night.
Moral, read the manual fully. I was kicking myself after months of muttering why doesn't the light illuminate!

| Those stinkin' owners manuals!
I am a technical writer by profession and I can tell you that the manufacturers of various products generally spend a good bit of money to provide written instructions for the users of their product(s).
Admittedly there are many small products produced in countries where English is not the primary language and the written instructions are quite dubious in their execution and clarity. And sadly some companies believe that the product is so simple and intuitive that anyone can write the instructions - leading to confusion.
Honda owners manuals (car and bike) are very well written and as Waspie has discovered - quite informative. |

To quote 'Homer' - 'Doh'. So how do you set it? Does the 600cc have the HISS also? to set HISS, ignition on, (dials illuminated), press the reset button for 2 seconds. The HISS light will flash once to indicate the system is 'armed'. The HISS light will now flash once every 5 seconds for 24 hours then stop flashing, although the system will remain active. |
