What are "points"?

When a member posts, their user information includes the number of posts, and "points". I couldn't find anything about points in the FAQ. Could someone explain.

Points are just kind of a fun way to indicate what members are active. If you post a message you get 1 point and if you start a subject you get 3 points. You also get 1 point per day since the member registered on the site. Hope this helps some.

Wondered about this myself. I googled "points" and it brought me here. Since we have so many new members I thought I would forward this. Just in case they were wondering.

It is just something for fun really. But for every 50 points you receive...Gary (Opalsboy) will also send all the members $50...so just PM him everytime you get 50 points.

If any of you live close to JeffR, please talk to him and ask him to quit sending me nude pictures of all his neighbors. My wife is getting a little annoyed. I am finding a lot of my mail opened by the USPS. Does that mean something?
