Just a note.
That screen is the first filteration for the oil being brought up from the bottom of the engine case. After it gets sucked thru the screen it goes to the oil pump and then onto the oil filter then it's off the lube the engine. You just might not take it out. It's the first thing in line for clean oil. |

| The Honda 250 engine fitted in the early X9s as well as many other scooters had only a screen - no filter - so it must do a good job. |

| I was able to purchase a drain bolt for my Helix that had a neodymium magnet epoxied into it. Basically, some guy found a threaded bolt that was the same as the one on the Helix, drilled it out and inserted the magnet. I don't feel like I need to do this on my Swing since It has a conventional filter design, but it was a little extra piece of mind for my Helix since in only had the filter screen. Even so, I've never found any large metal particles of any kind. Just brown dirty oil. |
