| Hi, I just spoke with Hammy and he is on his way now. So he has about 1,000 miles I guess to get home. |

Maybe if we start working with what rhymes with Hammy - we may end up with a song whammy jam-my (artistic spelling) |

| I've not been on here in quite some time so have not kept up on who and what's been going on. So... whoever "Hammy" is, welcome home ? ? ? 'Damn, he,' (rhyme?) had a long way to come ! ! I guess I've just got to much time on my hands... |

| I saw the title of this tread and thought; oooh good, the return of 'Tales from the River Bank'.
Sorry, but you have to British and a infant in the 60's. It was a programme where animals were the characters who lived along a river bank. 'Hammy' (the hamster), was one of the main characters.
However, to the real (human) Hammy, welcome back. |

| I actually love that show (it came on at 2am on PBS sometimes) and while Hammy is actually short for Hambone (an old nickname from my love of ham), many folks do call me Hammy the Hamster. Oh, and I'm the guy whose drive belt snapped on my way back home to Philadelphia from Chicago and got stuck in Indiana from Saturday till Tuesday morning. I got rescued by several wonderful people, foremost of all the people here including JeffR, Cosmic Jumper, Honda_Silver, DennisB and several others whose nicknames elude me... |

| Yes it did -- just had some trouble extricating the old "belt". I'll have to figure out how to post pictures (I'm at work right now) because it appears that what I found was only about 10 inches of actual belt fragments, a whole mass of "cotton candy" and a whole lot of what appeared to be ROPE!!! I don't know if that's what happens when a belt gets shredded, but none of the rope looked anything like it was the inside of a belt, although I must admit I have no idea what is on the inside of the rubber. I will post the photos on a belt discussion soon. |

| Um... a little bit. When I was running between 6100-6300rpm, I got mileage ranging from 32 to 36mpg. Take note though -- I was going into mountains and there were some trucks I had to blast by, which of course boosted the rpms to 7000. It was also really windy, so my giant saddlebags and giant windshield definitely killed my gas mileage... Time to experiment!!! |
