| I am having trouble setting the time on posts. I live in CT zone US . What setting do I use.
I have tried several times and still not got it right.
Can someone just tell me what I need in profile to get it right?
Be very specific. Like: GMT + xx hrs

| Max, I live in GMT - 6 Mountain time. That would make you GMT - 5 hrs. |

| Maxx, Timezones, as you know are based from GMT. Central Time zone is GMT - 6. I'm in the Eastern Time Zone, which is GMT -5. You'll need to account for the difference in Daylight Savings time as well. Just a little trivia. The railroads in the US are the one's that created time zones. They needed to do this to publish their schedules. Politics gets involved in everything. The Prime Meridian runs through Greenwich England, they had the most and best navigators at the time. Their pencil, their rules. Time is very important to navigation, so they needed a standard and a spot to base everything from, thus GMT - Greenwich Mean Time. The French never really got along to well with the English. They just couldn't abide the idea that the English controlled the time. They use UTC, Universal Time Coordinated ( which I think is really THE official). The French claim that UTC is based upon a point in space, it just happens to coincide with Greenwich, but its up in the air, above Greenwich someplace, therefore not actually in England. The military started referring to the time zones according to the phonetic alphabet. The Z or Zulu time zone was in Greenwich, thus Zulu Time. I know, I know. All you wanted to do was set the clock, not learn how to build it. Bill |
