| My 2005 SilverWing (like most others I assume) has a two-tone paint job.
The official colour is Titanium Metallic (YR183M). This titanium paint colour is on the fairing, rear side panesl and rear maintenance cover.
However, the passenger grab handles and lower fender skirt panels are a silver colour. I can't find any paint code to correspond with these panels.
Does any know what the correct paint code is for the silver colour? Even the color-rite website doesn't list a second colour for this model year.
Thanks, ~ sonuvabug ~ |

| Your local Autoparts store should have this: Dupli-Color Truck, Van, & SUV. Matches the original silver on the Silverwing scooter pretty well, paint # T191 ULTRA SILVER (M) 11oz spray can. |

| Thanks Dennis. I was only going to use a "close" match as "Plan B" and you've saved me some legwork. Thanks for that.
Having said that, I figure there has to be a Honda or Color-rite paint code that is an exact match. I asked the Color-rite people and they did not know ... they only go by paint codes not by vehicle etc.
I also emailed my local Honda MC dealer this morning to see what they said. My contact said he didn't know for sure but guessed it might be built into the part number code somehow. i.e. if you were replacing a grab handle, then the different colours would probably end in a different letter at the end of the part code.
My "guy" promised to look into it a bit further and if I get something concrete back from him, I'll post up again. If not ... Ultra Silver it is.

| I just painted a used rear spoiler that was really scuffed up with the T191 that Dennis suggested, and it looks like the original. Thanks again Dennis.

Thanks for the corroborating feedback Wendell. Looks like T191 it is (I checked with our local Canadian Tire store - like Pep Boys - and it stocks the Dupli-Color line. Next two questions, 1) for deep groves that need to be repaired i.e. filled in, sanded, painted etc., what type of filler is recommended? Also, 2) when you spray from the can, is there any "spidering" of the paint due to the tupperware flexing? I know on car bumpers, they add something to the paint to keep it flexible to withstand small flexes. ~ sonuvabug ~ |

~ sonuvabug ~ I'd use ABS cement for filler. Since the panels are ABS plastic, the cement will form a chemical bond with the panel (ABS cement is essentially just ABS plastic+MEK ) and leave you with a solid piece of plastic. Just sand all the paint off the surrounding area first, do several thin coats and build it up, and allow plenty of drying time. |
