I had wondered if the riding season here in Northern Illinois was already over but yesterday it was in the high 50's and low 60's and I had the chance to take a great fall ride of about 100 miles down Hwy 2 along the Rock River from Rockford to Dixon and back. I was truly surprised by how few motorcycles were on the road on this beautiful day. Those who already put their bikes away for winter really missed out. Right now its sunny but only in the mid 30's so I doubt that I will go out for another ride. Every year when it starts to turn cold I wonder if I should have stayed in South Texas but when spring arrives I'm glad I'm not in the land of blistering heat.
