| IIRC, they have had some less than favourable reviews on Maxi-muppets.co.uk. Might be worth your while checking on there before spending your hard-earned! |

Hope this helps. MaxB |

| Granted the original poster was riding a Reflex and the application on a Reflex may be very different than on a SilverWing, but check out the thread regarding Avon Vipers here: http://maxi-scoots.com/scoot/index.php?topic=1447.0;topicseen |

| I've used them on my other SWing Lesley, I liked them a lot and if you can get a pair for £80 then I'd say buy them. I've run my bike on Cougars for years but thats only because I can get them at a very good price! |

| Hello, Someone asked if anyone was riding on Avon Viper Strikes and I just wanted to say that both my wife and I ride on them with our Silverwings. So far 3500 miles and wearing well on both bikes. Rode the Dragon with them just last August, rain and shine. Bought them online for about $60 a piece no freight. not really a bad deal. from www.americanmototire.com Ronster |

| I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd wake it up... When my SWing failed its MOT the week after it's major service (which I'm sure I whinged about enough in this forum already) for the back tyre (note the correct spelling ), I had to let them (the dealers) fit a new one. I was again perturbed when they did not ask me which brand I wanted fitted and fitted an Avon Viper Stryke. At least it matched my front tyre, which I'm sure is the cause of my wheel wobble when decelerating. I must admit though, they do hold the road well, as I am still getting my knee down a bit further than perhaps I should on a maxi-scooter. |

| My garage of choice when I lived in Salisbury was VP Motorcycles. Vince, the owner, looked after my Silverwings superbly as well as doing the MOTs. If you're within reach, he's your man and won't presume to fit anything but the best. He put Bridgestones on both my bikes. |

| I've got Avon's on mine now. They've been on for a couple of K miles and they seem to be lasting well. Grip is more than good enough too. Despite the slagging Avon often seem to get I can't fault these tyres. |

| Avon seems to be a forgotten tyre brand these days, yet back in the 70's it was the done thing to junk the useless OE Bridgestone tyres on your UJM and fit Avon Roadrunners (or Dunlop TT100's).
As they were all tubed tyres back then, they were usually bought from Smart Tyres in Liverpool as they advertised in the two weekly comics. Lots of sweating and swearing using the useless tyre levers in the bikes tool kit to remove and replace the tyres too.
I remember a used MZ I bought having an Avon Speedmaster or SM rear tyre. |
