Angry and annoyed

Very annoyed with myself tonight.

Dropped my helmet and smashed a air vent at the rear. My fault, came home from work and I had changed my routine. I removed my helmet in the garage and walked into the house carrying it. The dogs then mobbed me and somehow the lid slipped from my hand, dropped 10 to 12 inches to a very hard floor and the damage resulted.

After ensuring the hounds had a greeting I checked the lid for damage. The shell is fine, the only damage is to an air vent, it was shattered and only held in place by the glue.

Next time I stick to my tried and tested routine. Now it's going to cost me money!!!!!!

Glad I have two helmets, the Arai can sit awaiting parts.

Really annoying.

Bad luck chap! I know the feeling, my wife got me a new lid for my birthday a few years ago - I had it two days, and was walking through the centre of town with my lid in my hand when a lady pressed past me in a que. I felt the buckle from her handbag catch on the visor -it left a 3 inch scratch down the middle! I don't know who I was more annoyed with; myself for not leaving it on the bike or her for needlessly pushing past me!

Being a tight bugger I rode with a scratched visor for the rest of the season and replaced it the following spring lol.

Just found the gaffa tape so a temp repair has quickly been carried out.

Much prefer the Arai, streets ahead of my Caberg in comfort and fit.

Hah Doug, gaffa tape to the rescue! I've just turned my 'Caberg' J+1 into a garden planter - a far more practical use than before. I'm now using a police issue BMW lid that seems to want to squash my nose................
