| Dreadful reports on the BBC about bush fires round Perth. To Kurt especially and everyone living there (two of my ex-pupils - married - live there), take care, hope you're safe, thinking of you. |

| Thanks Mike, Its a funny world, here in Perth we are cooking through a severe drought while all the other capitals are under heavy rain and floods. These fires spread so quickly with the 80kph winds whipping them along. There were 4 fires ringing Perth last night and all are now under control. I think 60 odd homes were destroyed this time. It is a worry.

| Update. A freind of ours and her partner were in the thick of it. Dave, using biker enginuity fitted a set of sprinklers to the roof of the house some time ago.The houses on either side were lost and Trish and Dave lost their front yard. Oh yeah, Trish managed to get her new MotoGuzzi Breva out too. |

| Good news! I watched the drama on the News last night - people seem to be coping extremely well. |
