the average age

First topic message reminder :

i suppose it comes to us all but i would like to know the average age of the swing rider im 39 and consider myself young for a swing rider.been riding for 24 years me and the wife owning around 60 bikes in that time .but i feel really content on the swing maybe i am getting old

well works for me as my lady is 10 years younger....lol

58 for me... I've been riding since I was 13. Lots of 'standard' bikes, 6 GoldWings, and the Swing is my third Scooter.

62 going on 35!

(Or alternatively 21 plus VAT and a hell of a big tip!!)

Wow.....I bought my Swing when I was 28....I am now 30...

I am 51. Started riding last year on a Ruckus, just to tool around the farm country. Took the moto safety course and had an old guy sell me his 1972 barn find Honda CB350. Then a real deal showed up on a 2003 wing w/8000 miles and so here I am. I love riding around to the small cities around here in west/central IL. Lots of history and little traffic and fun/interesting small town restaurants. No mall within 45 miles of me!

52 this year. I have been riding for 6 years now.

I know that feeling, too! I'm no doctor, but the advice I will give is take two Silver Wing rides and call me in the morning!

My S/Wing is in the shop,so I went for a 50 mi. ride on my Morphous and I think it may have helped.Things should get better after I get the Wing back.I see you also have a Morphous it must be an east coast thing.

You're another Morphous rider I've encountered on this thread. The other was RickV. The Morph is a great ride and I'm glad to have kept it after purchasing my Silver Wing. Looks like you may have come to the same conclusion.

Also, my daughter insists that I keep the Morphous and that we should have two scooters (gee, I can't imagine why!) in the garage. Currently learning two-wheel riding on an off-road 100cc bike, she will start her learner's permit in May and wants to take the basic rider course.

But I'm also glad the Morphous fit the prescription for you so nicely!

Age 72m male. My first bike was a H-D powered raked spring fork, hard tail chopper when I was 18 in Seattle and driving anything fast, loud and dangerous. Over the years I have had other bikes off and on. Now that age and injuries have taken away the ability to move an ankle and operate a foot shift I have taken on an affordable Silverwing salvage project bike. Though it is not yet street ready I have ridden borrowed scooters enough to realize scooting is fun but you gotta swallow the macho and resign yourself to the "old man image". Nevertheless scooting is a real kick and every bit as fun in a different and better way than roaring down a quiet lane on a Sunday morning and dragging every peaceful sole out of a restful sleep into thoughts of menace. Wish I would have gotten a maxi-scooter years ago.

I'm 45. I figured I better post to help lower the average a bit. It's not going to help much, though!

I'm not sure I have posted on this before, but here it is, 71 year old male. Had lots of Diff. Motorcycles including Honda Goldwing and lots of Harleys. I do like my 2008 Silverwing bought new in 2010

Well I'm turning 50 soon (couple of months) and this is my first bike.

Looking at the average age of Silverwing owners, we could probably get a nice discount bulk buying Werther's Original, the 135g bag is an ideal fit for the pocket of your favourite cardigan and ideal for dipping into when you go online.

Dang thats me as well 44 but 45 next week - Swing for a whole three weeks and loving it.

Been riding since I was 13, raced motocross and enduro and dabbled in Trials for a while; still get my fix every now and again

67 here, been riding silver wing since 2008, before that had a helix. Enjoy riding when I get a chance. Catasauqua, PA.

Hopefully it's not terribly poor etiquette to quote oneself often. Otherwise, I'm in it pretty deep. Been a while since the last update, and the new responders are (drum roll)... 51, 72, 45, 30, 63, 49, 40, 67, 33, 60, 37, 63, 43, 26, 44, 44, 45, 67, 29. By my count, there are now 60 unique responses for an average age of 52.32 years. Our average age is trending in the right direction.

73 years young. Have only been riding three years and wish I had started long ago. However, I got my pilot license and flew small planes for several years before I gave that up and bought a Honda Helix, 250cc. Rode that from Michigan to Kentucky and back last fall and after that I decided I wanted something bigger and faster so I got the Silver Wing. I have really been happy. Don't know how much longer I can keep this up but will do it until I begin to suspect I'm a danger to myself or others. Just got back from a three and a half hour ride in the country this afternoon.

I am 55 been riding 40 years.

52 years young. had the silverwing 3 months and luv it.returned to bikes 6 years ago after having to behave family and all that. Did all the warp speed bikes, but luv the silverwing ride all day no aches and pains and still has the grin factor
