| Sorry if the photo is scary. I took it my self. My poor old garrison cap is falling apart. It's over 40 years old now. DANG. |

| Dennis, it is not the cap that is SCAREY or falling apart.
Thanks again for your service. Military personnel are all special. |

| I happened upon a WW2 cemetery just East of Caen on my way home last week (still doing my report). I stopped for a short while.
There are just over 2000 graves, mostly British and Commonwealth, as always beautifully laid out and well cared-for.
One is always deeply moved at such times but even more this time on seeing the headstone of a soldier, just 17 years old, killed in the fighting soon after D-Day.

| Dennis & others - thank you for your outstanding service. Freedom is not cheap.
FYI - My brother was USAF for 13 years. Dad was active back Nam, several other relatives were also USAF. I tried to join up after HS but had a medical disqualification at the time. Instead, I served with CAP instead.

| Dennis,
Nice pic and thanks for the link. Sometimes I wish I kept my Marine uniforms when I got out but just never did. It sure is an important day here in the states and just as important to the "Memorial Day's" for the other service men and women in other countries too. We can't forget them. |

I kept my uniform, wish I hadn't, it only reminds me of a more youthful slimmer person I once was. The fortunate bit is my mind reminds me of a long lost past and a pride rekindling in a nation that is finally recognising it's brave service personnel. (I'm talking UK now, you guys, (Stateside,) haven't lost your national pride as we did.) |

| Jeff,
My old garrison hat is the only part of uniform that still almost fits me. I think the only way it would fit is if I shaved my head like in boot camp.
Waspie,
As long as you carry your countries Love for freedom and acknowledge those that gave their all for it. The Pride... It will live with in you, my brother...forever.
