| On my ride to work in London this morning the rain was very heavy, and I found myself riding on main and sometimes partially flooded roads. A car in front of me drove straight through a puddle that was probably 5-6 inches deep, which caused something of a bow wave for me to negotiate in his wake! Fortunately I managed to ride around the edge of the water with no great drama.
In the course of 20 odd years riding I have had to ride through water on the road that has sometimes been up to 12 inches deep. Do any owners out there have any experience of how the Silverwing copes with this, is the drive belt affected for instance if the bike is taken in water this deep? Do I need to avoid deep puddles at all costs or does the bike cope pretty well?
Please let me know if you have any experiences to share. This was my first ride in the wet as it has been very dry over here for months, and I'm pleased to say the Silverwing handles better than I expected it to with it's smaller scooter wheels. |
