Barney luv...LOL, thanks to all the tutorials ,i have did most of the maintenance on Barney, i have been mechanic all my life , mostly bikes and cars , but being this is my first scooter i found all the tips / tricks and pictorials very handy , to be quite honest i didn't have the slightest idea on how to get the back rim off and where the air filter was LOL .... the first thing he needed was a rear tire thanks to a nail hole and two "hens egg" sized knots , so i bought a metzeler feel free for 60 bucks on sale , and some motion pro rim protectors + tire irons and went to town , the shop wanted 60 bucks just to put the tire on the rim and it was off the bike , why i remember when i could get both tires changed for that and they took them off the bike , i have always changed my own tires except when i was just being lazy or in a hurry or just stranded and had to pay to get it done ,a little soap and some friendly persuasion it went on easy enough , i balanced it by putting the red dot away from the valve stem and the lead weight , i have paid for worse balancing, i also changed the oil and filter with mobile 1 synthetic , changed the tranny oil , checked the coolant ,brake fluids and air filter , whats left to do ? what about the belt and the clutch ? where can you buy new belts and clutch rebuilds ? barney has 18,000 on the clock i would think at least the belt needs replaced , i plan to replace the spark plugs and put on a new front tire over the winter ..
thanks
Keith
