My friend had a 2003 Silver Wing that I helped him sell through Craig's List. It was a stock SW (no extras) with 5300 miles. Never dropped in excellent condition. In less than a week it sold for $4500. Based upon the amount of phone calls, I think I might have done him a diservice suggesting he ask only $4500. He's happy and the buyer was excited, and that's what makes a good deal - both parties happy! I would have to say that Silver Wings are probably one of the best modes of transportation for holding value.

Gene,

That is a good price since it has low miles. I did look at the blue book values of the SWing and the Burgman 650 and the blue book shows that the Silver Wing holds its value a bit better than the B650. But it seems that they both are happy so that is good. Is there a reason your friend decided to sell? Just curious.

FYI. KBB retail price for a '03 SWing is $4,390.
So, he did well at $4,500.

Hi Jeff,

He bought a big 'ol Kawasaki cruiser 2 years ago. I tried buying his Silver Wing last year, but he insisted that he wanted to keep it along with his Kawasaki. He put all of about 300 miles on it last summer and reluctantly decided to sell it.

Book values are only guidelines. A scooter, car, house, etc. is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Again, this bike was like new, not a scratch anywhere. The buyer got a nice Silver Wing for about half if he was willing to buy a new one. Maybe he will end up on this forum...

Sounds like a very good low mileage scooter and a good buy.
I purchased mine thru good friends who were settling an estate for a family member. Mine had just under 1500 miles and was $4000.00. They knew I was looking for one. I really appreciate my freinds for remembering me during this time. Dick
