| Hi,
I'm including some links here where the Clearview Windshield can be purchased. If you know of other sites please post them and I will include them on this list.

www.clearviewshields.com

I have installed the Clearview and have had it on for over a year now. It is a good windshield but I am going to install the Givi after Christmas. And I will also give a review on both and how they compare. Since I like to ride fast sometimes the Clearview seems to flex more than I care for.
Ride safe,
JeffR

| Jeff, I could not decide between the Givi or the Clearview. I stumbled across the Cee Bailey's website and was very impressed so I ordered one. It should come in a couple of days and I can give you a review. They provide windshields for aircraft so I was impressed with their work. A number of BMW's use their windshield. Stay tuned for more info. Their website is: http://www.ceebaileys.com >> Dennis |

| Hey Dennis,
A review would sound great. I have heard good things about the Cee Bailey too. Maybe you can post a pic or two of the installation process if it isn't too much trouble. I will be doing that with the Clearview and the Givi. It would be nice if we can all try to help everyone out with maintenance so we can do it ourselves to save money from mechanics. I will also be posting a "Pictorial" of changing the variator and the belt too soon.
Ride safe,

| Subject: Two Wheel Touring also sells Clearview windshields Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:26 am | |
| Greetings all, In the first posting of this topic, JeffR asked for any other sites that sell Clearview shields. (In the interest of full disclosure ) I run Two Wheel Touring. We sell Clearview windshields, and have some in stock now. Check the bottom half of http://www.twtouring.com/HondaShields.htm. Many thanks, and Ride Well ... Ian Gibbs |

| Welcome Ian,
Thanks for posting and I tried your link but it didn't work for me. But I did put your website address up in the first post with the others. Sorry for omitting it. I also read your other post about your SWing and it sure sounds like it is set up nice for touring. Maybe you can post a pic sometime, if you haven't already. Thanks. |

| Ah yes - I imagine that the link in my positing included a "." after the "htm" bit. Sorry about that. Thanks for adding our main page to your original note.
http://www.twtouring.com/HondaShields.htm is what the link to our Clearview shields page for the S'Wing and Helix should have been.
Ride Well ...

| Subject: Improving wind screen rigidity and preventing flex Thu Mar 12, 2009 3:25 pm | |
| I recently posted this on a bike forum, but I thought it might be useful here seeing as a few people have complained of excess screen flexing with the clearview screen.
Although the Givi screen on my Yamaha Diversion is OK, I noticed that it wasn't a patch on the screen on my Silver Wing with a laminar lip, which offers much better weather protection. So as an experiment I mounted the laminar lip, (borrowed from my Silver Wing) on the givi screen on the bike. It was superb, with excellent protection until I got to three figure speeds, then the wind pressure was too much for the screen and it began to deform a bit, with the screen bending enough for the top bit to jump out of the mounting groove in the top of the fairing.... I tried various methods to make the mounting more secure, but to no avail. So I bought a taller screen (skidmarx super flip), based on good reviews and abandoned the laminar lip idea. (besides it was cheaper to buy the taller screen!) It also offers better weather protection than the shorter givi, but at higher speeds, was also pushed out of the mounting groove. I suppose using hard mounting bolts and solid rather than rubber grommets would fix this, but then any spill or knock and you end up with a knackered fairing..... So I have kept the original plastic bolts and rubber grommets, but added cable ties around the bottom of the screen to make it more rigid.... I also re-mounted my wind deflectors so their top mount 3M dual lock (heavy duty velcro spots) is mounted onto the screen and not the fairing. The screen now remains more rigid and doesn't deform at high speed, or jump out of the mounting groove. Thus the weather protection is excellent and no longer compromised even at higher speeds.

The black band across the bottom of the skidmarx screen is insulating tape stuck to the screen and underneath a few cable ties under tension. The set up works surprisingly well and you don't really notice the black band when you are riding along.

And on a final note, to avoid the mirror stalks fouling the screen at full handlebar lock, simply readjust the stalks a little further back, and readjust the mirrors. They will then no longer foul the windscreen at full handlebar lock, but still give a reasonable view behind you. |
