| Has anyone had a problem with the front wheel bearing (non-brake side) leaking grease? Mine started leaking during the hot summer, but I initially thought it was due to the heat expanding the grease past the seal. However, now that the weather has cooled, it actually seems to be worse. It's made quite a mess on the wheel. I've cleaned it a couple of times, but it's back. I called my local dealer and I'll take it up this weekend to have them check it out. I have the extended warranty, but apparently it needs to be 'inspected' and documented to Honda, and then maybe they will approve the repair (!). If they don't approve it, I'll pay for it, but I will also cancel the extended warranty. This type of stuff is what I bought it for. |

| Sounds like the seal has blown.
Can't see Honda reneging on the Warranty, the inspection I hope is purely procedural. |

| I took the scoot to Honda yesterday. Turns out what I thought was a wheel bearing problem turned out to be a leaking fork seal. The fork oil was running down the inside of the slider (where I couldn't easily see it), getting to the axle. From there evidently the wind blew the oil to the wheel hub, and from there spun out down the wheel to the rim which made it look like the bearing was leaking. Fork seal replacement scheduled next week. Rainy day today but otherwise nice, so I replaced the drive belt and final drive oil. Inspected the variator rollers, and a couple had flat spots. I'll be replacing them with the Dr. Pully sliders in the near future. |
