| I'm thinking of buying the new Givi airflow AF 214 and would like to have the lower part of the shield tinted, I think this would look cool. Has anyone done this and do you have a picture of one. Thanks...... |

Why wouldn't a window tint film on the inside of the windshield work?? |

| I won't go as far as saying it isn't possible. but window tint does not stretch. With curved windows on cars, multiple strips must be cut and matched. I recall a friend of mine had a '79 TransAm and the rear window required 15 separate strips. As the AF214 has multiple and compound curves, it would be very difficult to make it look good and work well.
Something that MAY work would be to spray a translucent paint on the inside. Depending on the solvents in the paint it may work or it may weaken or destroy the plastic. And if your technique isn't good, it will show.
I would ask Givi -- they've always been very responsive to email requests in my experience. That's why I have an AF214 and E52 on my Silver Wing and an E30 on my Elite. |

If you are using that much heat, then you are not following instructions. |

| I don't think I would use techniques used on glass to tint plexiglass. They are not the same material. |

Well then you shouldn't, however, one is working with the thin tint vinyl, which attaches to plexiglass as well as glass. Pretty simple installation. I have done vinyl signs for 20 years and I see no problem.

| If you had posted a Givi windshield with it's compound surfaces and material being tinted it would have been helpful. I believe this is what the original poster was asking; Not the back glass on a car. Please post some signs where you have worked on compound surfaces like a motorcycle windshield if you have them. |

| I was making a suggestion. His post never mentioned compound surfaces. Here are some motorcycle windshield tinting examples: http://www.vee-strom.com/blog/tutorials/motorcycle-windshield-tint/ http://www.doityourself.com/stry/how-to-tint-a-motorcycle-windshield here is a tinted windshield: and the product used: Madico Clear blister free, ch 20 (2nd layer)...not easy to as the blister free doesn't want to shrink. |

| I have the adjustable Givi screen. If I wanted to tint or change the color of the lower section, I would buy some Krylon Plastic gray paint and spray it on the inside.
I never have a need to see through the bottom portion of my windscreen.... as I see over mine at the highest adjustment point.
Just trying to be helpful rather than a naysayer.
