| Hello, I am new to the site and just purchased my first silverwing last week. It is a 2012. I am looking at ordering a windwhield.. Are all the silverwings years the same. What difference is there say between my 2012 and the previous years when ordering a windshield. Most site sell windshield for 2001 through 2009. Will the windshields for those year models fit my 2012. They do look the same |

| Hi bigi,
Welcome to the forum.
Yes, all the years of the Silverwing , from 2002 thru 2012 use the same windshield mounting bolt pattern. |

| Unless Honda has made a change that none of us know about, there should be NO difference in the windshield for any of the years.
The main differences are an O2 sensor, a revised dash (no longer painted the same color as the rest of the bike) on bikes built in 2007 and newer, and ABS as an option beginning in 2003 (second year in the US).
Welcome to the forum. Lots of nice people and good information here.
BTW, the favorite windshield seems to be the new GIVI (I think its a 214 model), that has an upper and a lower portion. I use a Laminar Lip on a cut down old-style GIVI and also on a stock windshield for the summer. If I were going to buy a new windshield today, I would go for the new GIVI, just because everybody seems to like it. |

| bigi, welcome to the forum. You are right in the middle of some great riding areas. If you go to the search function at the top of the page and plug in Givi winshield, you will find a lot of info. Also, there are pictorials on the installation. From what I have read, it is important to check the adjustable windshield for tightness. There is a lot to learn from others experiences. Enjoy the ride. |

There are two 10mm nuts on the adjusting mechanism. These have to be tightened just enough so that the locking mechanism grips the movable part of the screen firmly. See the main forum picture for how it looks on the scoot, (trike). cHEERS, |

| When installing the 6 threaded screws through the rubber grommets try not to push them in, they might fall inside the plastic body. I tended to rotate them to screw them into the grommets. Didn't do that on my Reflex and lost two and never found them. |
