The 1982 Silverwing is a very different bike than what we are discussing here. It is more tradditional in the motorcycle world. The Silverwing discussed (mostly) on this forum is an automatic sccoter.

Now as to the physics of moving a load - yes a smaller load requires less energy to move it and to keep it in motion, but at some point while in motion it is a wash especially when dealing with the relatively small differences in human mass.

Sorry for the colloquialism "a wash" means it is equal or inconsequential.

I really can't say what mileage you will get. So much depends on the type of riding you do. If you are riding the exact same bike as my wife and are mimicing her every throttle and brake imput I would tell you that the Silverwing she rides will return an MPG greater than 50, so in theory you would get that same. But speed, ambient temperature, bike condition, gasoline impurites, road conditions, etc. all have impact on MPG.

The FSC 600 Siverwing will get pretty good mileage if you treat it well. I also think that the CX 500 Silverwing (or any of it's variants) will get decent mileage.

good, mostly im gonna be going to galveston. i had to get a highway scooter so i could get on the highway. so hot, mostly smooth rode.

Old Limey, I think you are on the right track. Given the information the OP has provided: one who has difficulty controlling a 4-wheeled vehicle and is considering moving to a 2-wheeled vehicle, and their first question is regarding gas mileage...seems just a little suspicious, eh?

With big scooter, the amount of air you are displacing, not your weight probably has biggest effect on gas mileage. SilverWing not the most fuel economical out there.

Try 50cc 4 stroke scooter or moped.

No, this is definitely female logic.

2 extra wheels means a vehicle twice as hard to control,
so if she gets a vehicle with only two wheels it should take half the effort of a car.
