I saw this on MajestyUSA this morning and thought it important enough to copy here. It's an eye-opener for anyone considering a JCosta. Shocked

The rest of the story.... installed new v-belt and new 16.5gr weights in the J.Costa EVO2 for 2800 mile round trip from Austin to Virginia and back.. around 800 miles into the trip the weights started to break...pulled covers in Virginia and removed a piece of one weight still inside.. not sure if that was the only one missing.. the damage had already been done but belt was still good so decided to try to get back to Austin. Things seemed to be going alright for about 900 miles then more weights started breaking.. could have lost some during that 900 miles but didn't notice any changes... the rpm's increased, the mpg dropped from high 40's to low 30's.. filled up with gas north of Dallas and it's rattling and about half hour later the belt gave way and I coasted to the side of the interstate... so after 2515 miles everything is toast... but got close enough for a friend to come get me with his trailer... here is what the unit looked like after 2515 miles.... the metal inside the weights really does a number on sheaves....

These miles were all interstate miles and speed.... so I wouldn't recommend this unit if you are planning on running interstates...

HOLY CRAP! jawdrop Should have stopped after the first break. All damage after is operator headspace and timing. That's the point I would have said F*** this and Uhaul-d it back home.

pics here are not from a majesty, not from a silverwing. its clearly a tmax cvt. the jcosta is now on its 5th or sixth version. they have greatly improved metallurgy and design. the cvt is hard anodized and drilled at well bottom to create vacuum effect on pins. the slide is DLC coated. diamond like coating. nascar developed to prevent fast wear of piston wrist pins. and the bushing is self lubricating graphite. my friend owns a tmax. I installed the jcosta pro about 5000 miles on it. still butter smooth and quiet. will update when it is serviced.

I'm the one Jerry-D is referring to. It still performs the same as it did upon install. Still butter smooth and quiet. It will actually be coming out in favor of the new XRP model with fuzzy washer and newer smaller designed belt. I'm sure we will document the change over and take lots of pics.
